Granting Prom Wishes

Each year, close to 500 young women from the Greater Rochester region have their wish for prom attire granted by their Fairy Godmothers. The Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester annual Prom Fair helps financially challenged high school girls attend the prom by providing donated dresses, purses, necklaces and earrings. “When we have a girl here who finds the dress of her dreams,” Rene Spallina, event organizer, said. “Truly, you can see a change in her self-esteem, her confidence — and it’s from the inside out.”
